Itinerary Cuba Photo Tours 2016
MARCH 31 – APRIL 8, 2016
Day 1 Fly Mexico City (MEX) to Havana, Cuba (HAV). Tour leader can assist with tourist card visas and money exchange in CUC at each airports. Please download the information after booking to ensure all essentials are understood. Transfer to Havana City. We will be staying in Casas Particulares, Cuba’s version of B&Bs rather than hotels so as to get the proper flavor of Cuba. Some of these casas are characterful stunning old mansions. All are personally selected for quality and comfort. Orientation dinner at a well-known restaurant.
DAY 2 We will meet at a central location for the First PhotoWalk, taking in the Vedado area of Havana and visiting the great art deco mansions. The streets are a riot of color and energy but this neighborhood is slightly more tranquil for our first foray into Cuba life.
Afternoon visit to Jaimanitas area to see the Gaudi-esque artwork of Fusterlandia. Not to be missed. On our return an afternoon photo Walk of the Prado toward the Malecon. Dinner at La Bodeguita (Ernest Hemingways’s favorite haunt)
DAY 3 Walk old Havana. Including spectacular Havana Cathedral, the San Francisco Abbey. Well deserved lunch at a spot on Calle Obispo.
Move on to central Havana and hope to catch an excellent sunset on the Malecon sea wall.
Head out to 1830 for dinner and some salsa dancing.
Following in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway. We drive out to San Francisco de Paula to visit Finca Vigia, Hemingway’s home for more than twenty years. Then continue on to Cojimar village. Lunch beside the sea.
Return to Havana.
Afternoon visit to Castillo de San Carlos for sunset across the bay. Optional visit to Che Guevara Museum. Dinner at fabulous Tropicana for cabaret photography.
Morning transfer to Vinales where we will shoot some astounding wide angle views from la Ermita. Lunch at a fantastic finca and afternoon photo Walk.
Drive to Trinidad – one of the first villages settled in Cuba, UNESCO World Heritage site. Photowalks around Trinidad. Evening visit to Salsa restaurant.
Early morning photowalk taking in the colored houses and cobbled streets. Lunch at a palador and further exploration of the city. Dinner and dancing at La Botija.
Early morning departure for Cienfuegos. Photowalk of the centro and lunch at Villa Largato. Return to Havana for overnight. Photo review over cocktails and farewell dinner.
Departure for airline flight homeward.

Please note: The Cuba photo tours 2016 depart from Mexico City airport so you may elect to arrive in town the day before in order to be sure of joining with enough time. A meet up dinner the night before is a possibility. Arrivals from other points will meet at Havana airport with pick up.
